Ash Barton Manor Wedding Photography by London Wedding Photographer Mat Quake. I didn’t meet Tom and Katie until the big day, it’s rare to not meet couples before hand but it’s not always practical and I guess you get a good feel for someone over the telephone. Their wedding day took me to North Devon, a fab venue in the name of Ash Barton Manor, a relaxed and informal setting where you’re able to simply take over the house, barn and grounds for the duration of your stay. I met Katie in a local hotel for some getting ready photographs before the church service in nearby Braunton. Whilst the rain stayed away, it was pretty windy, which is fine if you’re a hungry wind turbine but not ideal for a bride’s hair in open spaces. I kept the informal bride and groom shots of them both in sheltered spaces, which have leant themselves as nice backdrops. They did both brave the windswept open wheat field in front of the wind turbines, thanks to them for that. I would never force a couple into weather or pose they weren’t comfortable doing but their contentment has resulted in a lovely shot, combining a passionate kiss with the clash of nature’s rolling hills and wind power technology. Wishing them both lots of future happiness, I hope you enjoy my documentary take on the day.
