Simon & Carmen Engagement Photoshoot | London Wedding Photographer

I spent a lovely morning with Carmen and Simon today at Canary Wharf in London, taking a number of pre-wedding photographs before the big day this Saturday at the Mandarin Oriental in Knightsbridge. I hadn’t met Simon before so it was nice to enjoy a coffee with him before we started shooting. I don’t think we could have got more out of today, because we did a number of different locations, poses and experimented with a range of lighting conditions. The last couple of shots were taken at Gaucho Grill, thanks to the manager there for allowing us to pop in and take a couple of snaps, it’s where Carmen and Simon had their first date so a fitting end to our photo session together. I am really looking forward to the big day on Sunday. BTW, I’m experimenting a bit with the white borders and think the slightly thicker approach works really well (please let me know if not!)

Dartmouth House Wedding Photography | London Wedding Photographer

Dartmouth House Wedding Photography by London Wedding Photographer Mat Quake, featuring some image highlights from Rob and Eugina’s wedding. ! I was recommended to Rob & Eugina by friends of theirs who’s wedding I had photographed. I am really pleased that the introduction was made because I thoroughly enjoyed working with them both. The day started in the Hotel next door, where I met Eugina and the girls getting ready and took a series of candid photographs before meeting Rob and his groomsmen for a couple of stylish snaps. Dartmouth House is a beautiful venue, with a grand staircase and traditional, victorian era rooms. We made good use of the interior with a range of natural and softly directed shots of them both, not to mention the street outside, with all its glorious town houses. I must say thank you to Katie, my assistant, who was on board for her first wedding shoot and was an enormous help. Enjoy a snapshot of their day…

Pembroke Lodge Wedding Photography | Richmond Wedding Photographer

Pembroke Lodge Wedding Photography by Richmond Wedding Photographer Mathew Quake. Celia and Andy booked me last year to photograph their wedding at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park. The schedule also included a series of getting ready and bridal photographs at The Petersham Hotel, also a popular wedding venue in Richmond Upon Thames. We followed up on our initial meeting with a pre-wedding photo shoot in the gardens of Pembroke Lodge a few weeks before the big day. This provided opportunity to get to know eachother and also for me to scope out the best spots for bride and groom photographs. It was clear to me that the best way to bring the location to life for Celia and Andy was to inlude the front of the lodge, encorporate lots of colour from the beautiful range of flowers in some shots and also make the most of the fabuolous views. Both Celia and Andy are incredibly loving, kind and considerate people so I just put them in position, let them be natural with eachother and I shot away. We also did a couple of more posed shots looking off camera position, using some creative flash for photographs with a little more punch. This blog features a few highlights from their special day.

Chiddingstone Castle Wedding Photography | London Wedding Photographer

Chiddingstone Castle Wedding Photography by London Wedding Photographer Mat Quake. Chiddingstone Castle is a stunning wedding venue in the heart of Kent and is a true fairytale backdrop for your special day. The Great Hall provides a magnificent location for a wedding ceremony and The Orangery is an amazing outdoor space which effortlessly combines ancient splendour with contemporary architecture. There are lots of opportunities for great bride and groom photographs either in the house or the grounds that surround. For a unique wedding venue in Kent, look no further than Chiddingstone Castle.

This post features photographs from Ameenah and Tim’s Chiddingstone Castle Wedding. I originally met Ameenah and Tim at a friend’s wedding in North Wales, they were sitting next to my wife and I at the wedding breakfast. We kept in touch and over a year later they booked me to cover their wedding at the amazing Chiddingstone Castle in Kent. The day started with some getting ready photographs so I met Ameenah, her bridesmaids, close friends and family at Edenbridge Castle, just a short drive from Chiddingstone. These two locations are a fantastic backdrop for a wedding, combine this with great weather and a fabulous bride and groom, you’re left with some great photography opportunities. The part of the day that stood out for me was the amazingly choreographed dance that the bridesmaids did before Ameenah walked down the isle.

Nonsuch Mansion Wedding Photography | Surrey Wedding Photographer

Nonsuch Mansion Wedding Photography by Surrey Wedding Photographer Mat Quake, taken at this beautiful, hidden gem of a venue in the heart of Surrey. My introduction to the mansion was made only when Louise and Jeremy booked me to do their wedding photography. They were looking for a personable photographer who could offer them something much more unique than the average shooter. I was pleased that they were drawn to my modern and aristic style as they are really lovely people and it’s been a pleasure getting to know them. The day started in the bridal suit, a lovely room where it is easy to shoot with natural daylight, no matter what the weather conditions.  For the bride and groom photographs I try to maximise every possible location at a venue and do this efficiently so that I don’t take them away from their guests for too long. These photographs demonstrate that. They also go a long way in illustrating, what is clearly, a strong connection between Louise and Jeremy. I purpously shot them in intimate situations to bring this to life, so there was lots of requests made for gentle kissing! You both looked fabulous and your father would have been ever so proud Louise.
