The Connaught Wedding Photography |Shahira + Jean-François

Lillingston are a class act when it comes to events – the attention to detail, the premium quality, the care they have for their clients is second to none and I was flattered when they introduced me to Shahira and Jean-François, who booked me to cover their Lillingston wedding at The Connaught and Mortons in Mayfair. I spent some time with the bride and groom before the ceremony at Mayfair Library close by, then some family photographs at The Connaught, reportage shots during the drinks reception and dinner at Mortons. After dinner they put on a party with an awesome DJ, everyone really got into it and so I managed to capture some great shots of guests dancing. A lot of care and attention has gone into the post production work to ensure the colour pallet and the style of greyscale suited them and the feel of their wedding. I didn’t hesitate to go for, what is becoming hugely popular amongst modern and contemporary wedding shooters, a vintage style black and white finish. It’s classic, timeless, soft and elegant, perfectly suited to the wedding. I hope you like the pictures and please leave them a comment at the bottom if you wish. They are both a lovely couple, were great fun to work with on the day and I wish them all the very best for the future.

Victoria + James | Engagement Shoot Bushy Park | Richmond Wedding Photographer

I have known Victoria for 13 years, she’s become a good friend and I was very pleased when she and James asked if I could capture their wedding. With the wedding date a week away we met in Bushy Park, Teddington, yesterday to take some pre-wedding/engagement photographs, a great way to get a feel for what we’ll do together on the big day. The woodland gardens there are a beautiful spot for photographs and despite the poor weather we still managed to get lots of pictures in the bag. I’ve shortlisted and edited a selection of softly directed, natural photographs which I felt best captured the connection they share. Really looking forward to capturing their day next week. Love to you Victoria and James.

Danielle + Ody | London Engagement Shoot | London Wedding Photographer

Engagement photoshoot featuring Danielle and Ody by London Wedding Photographer Mathew Quake. Another great engagement shoot along the Southbank in London. I love taking pictures in this location, lots of different urban backdrops to take advantage of. We met outside the Festival Hall and, after I explained my plan of action, we pretty much kicked off straight away. I wanted to try a few different things, reportage and soft poses to explore what they were comfortable doing and what suited them. Here is a small selection of images we both liked from the session for different reasons.

Anna + James | Avington Park Wedding Photography | London Wedding Photographer

Avington Park Wedding Photography by London Wedding Photographer Mathew Quake. I have had the pleasure of knowing Anna for some time through my event photography and I was delighted when she booked me to photograph her marriage to James at Avington Park. My day started at Alesford, where I met James, his best man and ushers at the local pub to take some candid shots of them enjoying a pre-wedding drink and some good banter. I then made my way to Anna’s home her home in the picture postcard village of Cheriton, where, upon arriving, I noticed Anna in her bedroom window, glancing at her phone with a smile -‘click’, a nice little moment captured. The day was blessed with fab weather (actually, quite hot), great guests to take photos of and a very impressive wedding reception venue (which was very well organised by events manager Anna Trant on the day I must add). I particularly enjoyed taking some photographs of Anna and her father making the sunny walk from home to the church. One of my favourite weddings this year and I wish the very kind and considerate Anna and James a lifetime of happiness. I hope you enjoy the short sample of candid moments captured on the day.

Harry + Natasha | Portmeirion Wedding Photography | London Wedding Photographer

Harry and Natasha’s Portmeirion Wedding, North Wales.

Portmeirion Wedding Photography by London Wedding Photographer Mat Quake. I was delighted when Harry and Natasha got in touch about their wedding in Portmeirion, one of my favorite venues in the UK to photograph at. It’s a wedding photographers paradise for pictures, with the village and seafront offering fantastic backdrops for photographs, candid or softly directed. The wedding day started for me at one of the village suites, to capture some photographs of Natasha getting ready before meeting Harry and his best men. Whilst I have focused on documenting the story of their day through moments and guests, I have also aimed to capture as much of the location as possible in my shots, so that the unique setting of the village, hotel and coastline is shines through in their photographs. Harry and Natasha are a lovely couple with a really close bond that comes through in their photographs. I wish them all the very best for the future , thank you for giving me the opportunity to be part of it. Please enjoy the story of their day and feel free to leave a comment.
